WELCOME
Welcome to my web pages. My name is Morten Harangen.
I come from Norway, where I work as a journalist for the Norwegian Broadcasting Company (NRK). As you may have
discovered, I'm a keen fly fisherman. Since I started fly fishing
as a young boy, I've had the pleasure of visiting some of the
finest fly fishing destinations in the world - including Iceland,
England and the western part of the USA. I often travel
together with my brother, who also is a dedicated angler.
I write fly fishing-, travel- and lifestyle related articles for
different Scandinavian magazines. Some of them are presented on these web pages, but I'm afraid they are in
Norwegian. My goal, however, is to have at least some of the pages translated shortly. In the meantime, have a look at the photo gallery which includes English comments. Besides writing articles, I have also made several fly fishing slide shows, which have become quite popular. You will find a presentation of them here.
I also have an extensive photo archive, from which I provide magazines and Internet sites worldwide with illustrations. Finally, I'm working on a book about British anglers who sailed north in the 1800s (and early 1900s), to fish salmon in the River Laagen. Any information about these angling pioneers is greatly appreciated.
Now, all that is left, is to thank you for browsing. I hope you find something interesting. And even though you don't understand a word Norwegian,
the photos certainly speak for themselves. For comments, please use my guestbook. For questions or requests, please contact me: Harangen Media
